Life Cycles!!!!

How time flies! We have been working on studying the life cycles of many different things. We started out with butterflies and ladybugs. We completed hands-on activities while watching the life cycle take place in front of our eyes. We got to see pictures I took at the butterfly pavilion in Denver, Colorado. My students have really enjoyed reading, writing, and learning about the life cycles. Check out a preview of my butterfly life cycle units here and my ladybug unit here. Next we started to study plants. We planted seeds, watched beans grow sprouts, and looked at roots! My students really enjoyed the plant life cycle this year. We were able to fit in a lot of fun exciting activities. Here’s a preview of my plant unit also being sold on Teachers Pay Teachers. Our class took a strip  to the Springs Preserve to see the desert plants. We graphed who had planted a flower before!

This began our desert unit. We got to see and talk about desert life up close. My students really enjoyed seeing the cacti and animals. In class we looked at the desert from all different angles. We created paintings with a sunset scene. My students really enjoyed making these books about the desert. Check out my unit on Teachers pay teachers, and here is a preview.
